The T2R4991 is a sealing O-ring for a refrigerant hose joint in the air conditioning circuit on Jaguar XF, E-Pace, F-Pace and F-Type. It seals the connection where a refrigerant hose meets an adjoining component, containing the refrigerant charge and system pressure at the joint face.
Can the A/C O-ring be reused?
No, the A/C O-ring is a single-use item and should be renewed whenever the joint is opened. Reusing an old ring typically causes a slow refrigerant leak. Lightly coat the new ring with clean refrigerant oil before assembly so it seats without damage.
How many O-rings are needed for an A/C repair?
One O-ring seals each hose joint that is opened, so the quantity depends on how many connections the repair disturbs. Renew every ring on any joint you separate rather than reusing the old ones. The air conditioning system must be evacuated and recharged by a qualified technician afterwards.
