What is the TF643GD braided brake hose kit?
The TF643GD is a stainless steel braided brake hose kit for the Land Rover Defender (1999-2004) with ABS. It is a four-line, +2 inch extended-length kit made by Goodridge, for the ABS-equipped hydraulic layout. The hoses carry pressure across the chassis-to-axle joint.
How is the ABS version different?
The TF643GD is built for the ABS hydraulic layout on the Defender 1999-2004, which routes differently from the non-ABS setup. Fitting a non-ABS kit to an ABS vehicle, or the reverse, will not match. Confirm your Defender has ABS before choosing this kit.
What does the +2 inch length cover?
The +2 inch extended length suits a Defender running up to a 2 inch suspension lift, giving enough hose at full suspension droop. For a standard-height ABS Defender, a standard-length kit would be correct instead.
Why upgrade to braided hoses?
Braided hoses replace the rubber flexibles that swell under pressure and with age. The PTFE liner inside a stainless braid resists that expansion, giving a firmer brake pedal on the ABS Defender 1999-2004. This four-line kit covers the flexible hose positions.
