Frequently asked questions

What is the WCM500130 exhaust gasket for?
The WCM500130 is the catalytic converter joint gasket for the V8 turbo diesel exhaust, fitting the Range Rover L322 (2010-2012) 4.4L V8 diesel and the Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013) 3.6L V8 diesel. It clamps between the mating exhaust flanges and seals the joint against exhaust gas leakage.
Should this exhaust gasket be reused?
No, replace this exhaust gasket every time the flange is separated. It's a compression-set part, so once it's been crushed on the V8 diesel exhaust it won't re-seal reliably. Always fit a new gasket when doing catalyst or downpipe work rather than refitting the old one.
What are the signs this exhaust gasket has failed?
A failed catalyst gasket usually shows as an exhaust gas leak at the joint, often a ticking or blowing noise under load and a smell of fumes on the L322 or L320 Sport. Left unsealed, the leak can affect downstream sensors, so renew the gasket once a blow develops.
