Frequently asked questions

What is the AMR1088 Relay used for?

The AMR1088 relay switches power within the anti-theft alarm and remote central locking circuit on these Land Rovers. It's mounted with the vehicle relays and fuses in the electrical distribution and operates the alarm and central locking functions.

Where is the AMR1088 relay located?

The AMR1088 typically sits with the other relays and fuses in the vehicle's electrical distribution. On Range Rover Classic it's noted in the footwell relay location. It serves the alarm and remote locking system rather than a lighting or engine circuit.

Which vehicles does the AMR1088 relay fit?

The AMR1088 fits the Land Rover Defender (1987-2006, and 2007-2016 from VIN 7A000001), Discovery 1 (1989-1998, VIN KA034314 to MA501919), and Range Rover Classic (1992-1994 from VIN JA610294). It handles alarm and remote central locking, so confirm your vehicle has those systems fitted.
