Frequently asked questions

What is the MWC9322 clip nut used for?
The MWC9322 clip nut is a spring-steel fastener that gives a captive threaded fixing point on panels and brackets on the Land Rover Defender (up to 2006). A screw drives into its threaded section to hold trim or fittings where there is no welded nut.
How does the clip nut fit onto a panel?
The clip nut slides over a panel edge or into a punched hole, locating so a screw can be driven into its thread from the opposite face. The spring action keeps it captive during assembly and helps it resist backing off under vibration.
When should the clip nut be replaced?
Replace the clip nut when its thread strips or the spring legs lose tension and no longer grip the panel. Order to the number of fixing points being renewed on the Defender, as a slack clip nut lets the fixing rattle loose.
