OEM: Made by an Original Equipment Manufacturer. This part is made by an original equipment manufacturer or under their license, ensuring compatibility and quality.

Frequently asked questions

What does the PRC9917 temperature sensor do?

PRC9917 is the green-coded temperature sensor for the 2.5L 200 TDi engine in the Land Rover Discovery 1 (1989-1998). It monitors temperature in the intercooler circuit and feeds the reading to the engine's temperature sensing system.

Why does the colour code matter on this sensor?

The green colour code identifies this sensor's calibration. Match the green code when replacing, as the green sensor is the non-GCC variant. A different colour code means a different calibration and the wrong temperature reading for your engine.

Where is this temperature sensor fitted?

This temperature sensor typically sits in the intercooler circuit of the 200 TDi engine. It belongs to the engine cooling and temperature sensing system on the Discovery 1 and signals the reading back to the vehicle.

How do I confirm this sensor fits my Discovery?

This green sensor fits the Land Rover Discovery 1 (1989-1998) with the 2.5L 200 TDi engine, non-GCC specification, up to VIN LA081991. Check your VIN against that ceiling and confirm the existing sensor is green-coded before ordering.
