What is the TF534 skeleton shock mount?
The TF534 skeleton shock mounts are the upper front shock absorber turrets for the Land Rover Discovery 2. They bolt to the front chassis rails and carry the top of each front shock. The open tubular skeleton design leaves the shock body exposed rather than enclosed. Supplied as a pair at standard height.
Why fit skeleton turrets instead of the standard ones?
Skeleton turrets use an open tubular frame that's stronger than the standard pressed-steel Discovery 2 turrets and more resistant to corrosion, which is a common problem where the original enclosed towers trap mud and rust. The exposed design also makes the shock body easier to inspect. Zinc-plated steel construction.
Do these fit any other Land Rover?
No, the TF534 front skeleton turrets are specific to the Land Rover Discovery 2 front chassis rail mounting. They won't fit other models without the same turret arrangement. Confirm your vehicle is a Discovery 2 before ordering, and note they're supplied at standard ride height rather than raised.
