Reparatieset Draaipuntbehuizing voor de draaipuntconstructie van de vooras, voor één zijde van de as. Deze set bevat niet de draaipuntbehuizing zelf en levert de slijtdelen die nodig zijn om een bestaande behuizing te reviseren. Het is geschikt voor de latere configuratie met de stuurarm aan de onderzijde van het draaipunt.

Het herstelt het draaipunt waar de wieldrager op het aslichaam draait, waardoor de stuurflexibiliteit wordt hersteld en de draai-eenheid wordt afgedicht. De set bevat de draaipen, Railko-bus, drukring, draaipenlager, O-ring, borgring, borgbout, vulplaatjes, oliekeerring en borgring, pakkingen en een zakje draaipuntbehuizingsvet.

What does the Swivel Housing Repair Kit GA3181P do?

The GA3181P rebuilds the front axle swivel joint on a Land Rover Series 2 and 3, where the hub carrier pivots on the axle casing. It supplies the wear components (swivel pin, Railko bush, thrust washer, bearing, seals and shims) to restore steering articulation and seal the swivel unit. It covers one side of the axle.

How many kits are needed to overhaul both front swivels?

You'll typically need two GA3181P kits to overhaul both front swivels, as each kit covers one side of the axle. On most Series 2 and 3 rebuilds the swivels are done as a pair, since both sides usually show similar wear by the time one needs attention.

Does this kit fit all Series 2 and 3 models?

This kit fits Land Rover Series 2A and 3 axles with the later configuration where the steering arm sits at the bottom of the swivel. It suits all variants except the V8 (Stage 1 V8). Check your swivel layout before ordering, as the steering arm position determines which kit you need.

What's the difference between GA3181P and GA3181?

GA3181P is the repair kit without the swivel housing, supplying only the wear parts to overhaul an existing housing. GA3181 is the full kit that also includes the swivel housing itself. Choose GA3181P if your housing is still serviceable, or GA3181 if the housing is pitted or damaged.

What are the signs the front swivel needs rebuilding?

Worn swivel components usually show as stiff or notchy steering, play at the hub, and oil weeping from the swivel seals. The swivel pin, Railko bush and thrust washer carry the steering load and run in oil, so they wear over time. Left unaddressed, worn swivels cause steering wander and further axle damage.
