Frequently asked questions

What is the spring eye bush and what does it do?
The spring eye bush is a rubber bush that fits inside the leaf spring eye on Series Land Rovers, forming the pivot between the spring eye and its mounting pin. It sits at the front fixed mount and the rear shackle, giving compliance and isolating vibration at each spring-to-chassis connection.
How many spring eye bushes do I need?
Spring eye bushes are sold individually, and a Series leaf-spring setup uses several. Each spring has an eye at each end, so a full set covers every spring eye and shackle being serviced. Count the eyes you're refurbishing and order one bush per eye.
Why do spring eye bushes wear out?
Spring eye bushes wear because they take constant flexing and load as the leaf springs move. Worn bushes usually show as knocking over bumps, vague handling, or visible perishing and cracking of the rubber. Renewing them restores correct spring location and a tighter ride.
What's the difference between the rubber and polyurethane spring eye bush?
This is the rubber spring eye bush, which gives the original soft compliance and a quiet ride. A polyurethane version of the same bush is also offered for more stiffness and longer wear life. Choose rubber for standard road use and original feel, polyurethane for harder or loaded use.
