Frequently asked questions

What does the RTC5867 track rod end do on a Land Rover Series?
The RTC5867 is a right-hand threaded track rod end for the Series 2 and Series 3 steering linkage. It forms the ball-jointed connection between the track rod and the steering arm, transferring steering input from the track rod to the front road wheel.
What does 'full thread' mean, and why does it matter for this track rod end?
Full thread means the shank is threaded along its entire length, matching the receiver hole on the track rod or drag link. The RTC5867 must only be fitted where the mounting point is fully threaded: fitting it to a partially threaded or plain-bore track rod is incorrect and unsafe.
How do I confirm this RH-thread track rod end fits my Series?
This end fits Series 2 and Series 3 Land Rovers from 1974 to 1984 with axle suffix E onwards. Confirm your axle suffix from the axle identification plate or vehicle documentation. The matching left-hand thread full-thread version is RTC5868.
