Frequently asked questions

What does the A/C thermostat probe (BTR3753) do?
A/C thermostat probe BTR3753 is an evaporator temperature sensor in the air conditioning system. Mounted at the evaporator, it measures temperature and signals the control circuit to cycle the compressor, preventing the evaporator from icing.
Which vehicles does this A/C probe fit?
A/C thermostat probe BTR3753 fits the Land Rover Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic with factory air conditioning. Discovery 1 fitment runs from VIN FA393361 to WA799999; Range Rover Classic from VIN JA610294.
What are the signs this A/C probe has failed?
A failed A/C thermostat probe typically shows as the compressor not cycling, weak cooling, or the evaporator icing up. Because it sits at the evaporator inside the blower assembly, access usually means removing the heater or blower housing.
