Frequently asked questions

What does the ETC9080 power steering belt do?
The ETC9080 is the polyvee belt that drives the power steering pump on the 2.4L VM turbo diesel engine. It transfers rotation from the crankshaft pulley to the pump, running the hydraulic circuit that provides steering assistance on the Range Rover Classic.
What are the signs this power steering belt needs replacing?
A power steering belt usually needs replacing when it's cracked, glazed or perished, or when it slips. Slipping typically shows up as heavier steering or a squeal on lock. A failed belt cuts hydraulic assistance, so it's normally renewed during routine servicing before it lets go.
Which engine and model does this belt fit?
This belt fits the 2.4L 4-cylinder VM turbo diesel in the Range Rover Classic, built 1986-1991 up to chassis HA610293. It's specific to that VM diesel, so confirm your engine and VIN before ordering rather than assuming it suits the V8 or later diesels.
