Frequently asked questions

What is this valance panel used for?

This valance panel is a replacement body panel for the lower body of the Discovery 1, covering the wheelarch and valance area. It's fitted where the original steel has corroded or been damaged, restoring the outer bodywork profile in that area.

Does this valance fit all Discovery 1 models?

This panel (ALR2349) is listed for the Discovery 1 built between 1989 and 1998, specifically chassis VIN FA393361 to WA799999. Discovery 1 body panels changed across the production run, so check your VIN falls within this range before ordering.

What's involved in fitting a replacement valance panel?

Fitting a valance panel is bodywork rather than a simple bolt-on job. It typically involves cutting out the corroded section and welding in the new panel, so it's usually done by a bodyshop or an experienced welder rather than as a DIY task.
