Thermostaat O-ring voor de TDV6 dieselmotor.

Deze O-ring zorgt voor de koelvloeistofafdichting bij het thermostaathuis op TDV6 dieselmotoren, waardoor koelvloeistof niet kan omzeilen of lekken bij de verbinding tussen thermostaat en behuizing. Vervanging wordt aanbevolen bij het verwijderen van de thermostaat of wanneer er koelvloeistoflekkage optreedt bij de behuizingsverbinding.

The Thermostat O-Ring is the coolant seal between the thermostat and its housing on the V6 diesel engine, preventing leaks and coolant bypass at that joint. This is the genuine Land Rover part, number 1336551, fitting Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Discovery 5 V6 diesel.
How many are needed and when should it be replaced?
One Thermostat O-Ring is typically needed per thermostat. Renew it whenever the thermostat or housing is removed on a Discovery 3, 4 or 5 V6 diesel, as the used seal usually won't reseal. Coolant seepage at the housing joint is the common sign it needs doing.
Can I reuse the old O-ring?
Don't reuse the old Thermostat O-Ring. Once it's been compressed against the housing it typically takes a permanent set and can leak coolant if refitted. On Discovery 3, 4 and 5 V6 diesel engines it's standard practice to fit a new seal with any thermostat work.
