Frequently asked questions

What does the accelerator linkage bush do?
The accelerator linkage bush gives the throttle linkage a low-friction pivot point on the Series II, IIA and III 2.6 litre six-cylinder petrol engine. It sits where the linkage rod articulates against its bracket or shaft, keeping movement smooth so throttle response stays precise.
How many bushes do I need for the accelerator linkage?
Typically one bush is needed per pivot point, but the accelerator linkage can carry more than one articulation, so check your existing setup before ordering. Replacing all worn pivot bushes at the same time usually restores consistent throttle feel.
What are the signs the accelerator linkage bush needs replacing?
Worn accelerator linkage bushes usually show as play, slack or stiffness in the throttle, and sometimes a sloppy pedal feel. On these Series engines a worn pivot lets the linkage move sideways, which blurs throttle response until the bush is renewed.
