Frequently asked questions

What is the Brake Pipe 592375 and what does it do?
The Brake Pipe 592375 is a rigid, pre-formed metal pipe in the rear brake hydraulic circuit. It carries pressurised brake fluid from the rear junction union out to the right-hand rear wheel cylinder, clipped along the chassis and axle on its way.
What's the difference between 592375 and 592374?
592375 is the right-hand rear brake pipe; 592374 is the matching left-hand rear pipe. They're handed for the routing on each side, so order by the side you're replacing, or both if you're renewing the rear pipework.
Why does a rear brake pipe fail and when should it be replaced?
Rear brake pipes typically fail through corrosion and rust pitting, or chafing where they're clipped. The signs are fluid leaks, a soft or sinking pedal, or visible rust. A corroded pipe can burst under pressure and lose rear braking, so replace it once corrosion shows.
Is one pipe enough, or do I need both sides?
One 592375 covers the right-hand rear only. If both pipes are corroded, which is common once one has failed, you'll typically also want the left-hand 592374 to renew the rear circuit properly.
