What does the water pump do on a 4.4 V8 petrol Range Rover?
The water pump circulates coolant through the engine block, cylinder heads and radiator to hold the 4.4 V8 petrol engine at its operating temperature. It's driven by the accessory belt and fits the Range Rover L322 2002-2009 with the M62 B44 or 4.4 AJ V8 petrol engine.
How do I know if the water pump is failing?
A failing water pump on the 4.4 V8 typically shows as coolant leaks from the pump body, a whine or rumble from a worn bearing, or engine overheating. If the bearing or seal has gone, the pump usually needs replacing to restore reliable coolant flow.
Does this water pump come with a gasket?
On M62 B44 DOHC applications this water pump is supplied with its mounting gasket. On the 4.4 AJ V8 variant, check your existing gasket and sealing surface before fitting. The part carries Land Rover number 8510324.
