What is the O-Ring (AEU1628) used for?
The O-ring seals a connection in the air conditioning refrigerant circuit. It's fitted at hose unions and component joints, including the evaporator and blower motor connections, to give a refrigerant-tight seal and stop the system losing its charge.
How many O-rings do I need for an air conditioning repair?
You'll typically need one O-ring for each joint you open. When servicing the AC system it's usual to renew every O-ring on any union that's disturbed, so order one per connection rather than reusing the old seals.
Can the air conditioning O-ring be reused?
AC O-rings are typically single-use. Once a refrigerant joint has been opened the seal can take a set, so fitting a fresh O-ring is the usual practice to keep the connection refrigerant-tight and avoid a slow leak.
