What is the AFU1071 washer used for?
This washer retains the bonnet sound and heat insulation pad against the underside of the bonnet on the Land Rover Defender (up to 2016). It holds the pad to its mounting studs so it stays flat and in position.
How many of these washers are needed for a bonnet pad?
Typically several are used across the Defender bonnet insulation pad's mounting studs. The exact number depends on how many studs your pad uses, so count the existing fixings before ordering. They're usually renewed together when refitting the pad.
Can these washers be reused when refitting the pad?
Usually yes if they're undamaged, but they're low cost and often renewed when the Defender bonnet insulation pad is replaced. A corroded or distorted washer won't hold the pad flat against the bonnet.
