Binnenverlichtingsschakelaar is een deurgeactiveerde contactsleutelschakelaar in het interieurverlichtingscircuit, gemonteerd bij de deuropening.

Wanneer de deur wordt geopend, schuift de plunjer uit en sluit het circuit naar aarde, waardoor de binnenverlichting aangaat; het sluiten van de deur drukt de plunjer in en onderbreekt het circuit. Het is direct verbonden met de kabelboom van de interieurverlichting en de bijbehorende lampunits.
