What is the nut plate used for?
This nut plate provides captive threaded anchor points behind the body panel, securing the striker fixings where a nut cannot otherwise be held. On the Defender it locates the front door latch striker and the lower side-hinged tailboard striker, keeping the latch engagement correctly aligned.
Which vehicles and locations does it fit?
This nut plate fits the Defender, at the front door latch striker (from VIN AA270227) and the lower side-hinged tailboard striker. It covers Defenders up to 2016, with the 2007-on tailboard application from VIN 7A000001. Check your VIN and striker location before ordering.
How many nut plates do I need?
Order one nut plate per striker location you are refitting, as the door and tailboard strikers each use their own plate. If a striker has worked loose it is worth checking the plate for stripped or pulled threads and renewing it so the striker holds alignment.
