Frequently asked questions

What does the front radius arm bush do on a Range Rover P38?
The radius arm bush is the bush at the axle end of the front radius arm on the Range Rover P38, where the arm bolts to the axle. The radius arms locate the axle fore-and-aft and control its movement under braking and drive.
What's the benefit of a polyurethane radius arm bush?
This bush is moulded in polyurethane instead of natural rubber. Polyurethane typically resists perishing and holds the arm's location more firmly than rubber, which usually gives tighter axle control at the cost of slightly more transmitted vibration.
Is this the axle-end or chassis-end bush?
This is the to-axle bush at the axle end of the radius arm, not the chassis-end bush. Each front radius arm takes a bush at both ends, so confirm which position you're replacing and renew them as a pair per axle.
What are the signs of a worn radius arm bush?
A worn radius arm bush typically lets the axle shift under braking and drive, producing wander, vague steering, and uneven front tyre wear. A firmer polyurethane bush usually holds axle location better as it ages.
