The Floor Huck Nut AYH500280 is the swaged collar half of a Huck lockbolt, used in the rear body lower mountings on the Land Rover Defender 2007-2016. It's pressed over the protruding pin and swaged into its locking grooves with a dedicated tool, forming a permanent, high-strength joint that resists vibration.

Do I need the Huck pin as well as this collar?

Yes. The Floor Huck Nut is only the collar half of the fastener. It works with its matching Huck pin (AYT500020), which passes through the joint before the collar is swaged onto it. When the joint is disturbed both pin and collar are replaced together, since neither can be reused.

Can the Floor Huck Nut be fitted with normal hand tools?

No. The collar has no thread, so it can't be wound on with a spanner. It's swaged into the pin's locking grooves with a dedicated Huck installation tool, and removed by cutting or splitting it off. This is typically a workshop job with the correct Huck tooling rather than a roadside repair.
