Deze elektrisch bediende magneetklep regelt de vacuümtoevoer naar de bedieningselementen van de verwarming en ventilatie. Wanneer deze door de verwarmingsregelschakelaar wordt bekrachtigd, opent hij het vacuümcircuit dat de luchtmeng- en distributiekleppen in de HVAC-behuizing bedient, waardoor warme of omgevingslucht naar de geselecteerde ventilatieopeningen wordt geleid. Een defecte solenoïde resulteert meestal in het verlies van de verwarmingsfunctie of vaste ventilatieposities, ongeacht de regelinstelling.
