Onderste isolator achterschokdemper

Frequently asked questions

What is the CAC949465 Insulator used for?
The CAC949465 is the rubber insulator at the lower mounting of the rear damper. It locates the foot of the damper while isolating road shock and vibration passed through it. It's a wearing rubber component in the rear suspension.
What are the signs the rear lower damper isolator needs replacing?
A perished or collapsed lower isolator typically allows the rear damper to move at its base, causing knocking from the rear suspension and harshness over bumps. As the rubber breaks down it can no longer cushion the damper, so it's usually renewed alongside new rear dampers.
How is this lower isolator different from the upper one?
The CAC949465 is the lower isolator, fitting at the foot of the rear damper. The upper isolator at the top mount is a separate part, CAC949350. Confirm which end you're replacing, or order both to renew the complete rear damper mounting.
