Het filter zeeft vuil uit de transmissievloeistof die uit het carter wordt gezogen voordat het de pomp, het ventielhuis en de koppelingpakketten bereikt. Het is het bruikbare element voor de gemakkelijk te verwisselen metalen carter (DA2142 / TF2142 conversie), waardoor het filter kan worden vernieuwd bij een vloeistofwissel zonder de versnellingsbak te verwijderen - in tegenstelling tot de originele eendelige kunststof carter-en-filtereenheid. Vernieuw het filter samen met de transmissievloeistof bij de onderhoudsinterval van de versnellingsbak.
