What is the Clutch Kit (less bearing) for?
The Clutch Kit is the friction-clutch assembly for the Td5 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo diesel, supplied without the release bearing. It comprises the clutch cover (pressure plate) and the driven plate (friction disc). The cover clamps the driven plate to the flywheel, carrying drive to the gearbox input shaft.
Does this clutch kit include the release bearing?
No, this kit is supplied less the release bearing. It contains the clutch cover and driven plate only. If you're also renewing the release bearing, order it separately. Many fitters replace the bearing as a matter of course whenever the clutch is changed.
Which Land Rovers does this Td5 clutch kit fit?
This clutch kit fits the Td5 engine in the Land Rover Defender 1998-2007 and Discovery 2 1998-2004. It suits the Td5 2.5-litre diesel only, not earlier 300Tdi or later Puma engines. Confirm your engine is the Td5 before ordering.
