Bobine voor een conventioneel ontstekingssysteem op basis van een verdeler. De bobine zet de 12V-voeding van het voertuig om in de hoogspanning die nodig is om de bougies te ontsteken, en levert die output via de verdelerkap en rotor aan elke cilinder in de ontstekingsvolgorde.

What does the DAC2964-L ignition coil do?
The DAC2964-L ignition coil transforms the 12V supply into the high-tension voltage needed to fire the spark plugs in a distributor-based ignition system. It delivers that output through the distributor cap and rotor to each cylinder in firing order. It's a canister-type, oil-filled coil.
Where does the coil wire in?
The coil wires between the low-tension ignition circuit and the distributor. The low-tension feed connects to its primary terminals, and the central high-tension tower feeds the distributor cap via the king lead. It typically mounts on a bracket near the distributor in the engine bay.
What are the signs of a failing ignition coil?
A failing ignition coil usually causes misfires, weak or no spark, hard starting, or cutting out when hot, since it can't sustain the high-tension output. Oil-filled coils can leak or break down internally with age. Confirm spark at the coil tower before blaming the distributor cap or leads.
