The DAC3719-INT clutch pedal switch, the Intermotor-branded variant, signals the diesel engine ECM when the clutch pedal is operated. Mounted at the clutch master cylinder, it lets the ECM apply surge damping during gear changes, smoothing the shift and limiting emissions. At rest its contacts are closed; pressing the pedal opens them.
Where is the clutch pedal switch located?
The clutch pedal switch mounts at the clutch master cylinder in the engine management circuit, not on the gearbox. It detects clutch pedal movement for the ECM. Because it sits at the master cylinder, access is typically from the pedal box or bulkhead area rather than under the vehicle.
Why does the clutch pedal switch fail, and what are the symptoms?
The clutch pedal switch usually fails through worn internal contacts, giving a rough or surging gear change, an engine that won't settle during shifts, or a stored fault code as the ECM loses its clutch signal.
