Frequently asked questions

What is the DKE000010LR wiper pad and what does it do?
The DKE000010LR is the replaceable rubber wiping element for the windscreen wiper blade on the Land Rover Defender. It's the strip that contacts the glass and clears rain and road film as the blade sweeps across the windscreen.
How does the pad differ from a full wiper blade?
The wiper pad is just the rubber wiping strip, not the whole blade frame. On the Defender it lets you renew the perished rubber element while keeping the existing blade, which is more economical than replacing the complete blade assembly.
When should the wiper pad be replaced?
Replace the wiper pad when the rubber edge perishes or the blade begins to smear or streak. The rubber hardens and splits with age and sun exposure. Renewing just the pad keeps the Defender's wiper sweeping cleanly in wet weather.
