Frequently asked questions

What does the Sliding Roof Frame do on a Discovery 2?
The Sliding Roof Frame is the lower frame of the sunroof that mounts into the roof panel opening on the Land Rover Discovery 2 (1999-2004). It locates the sunroof cassette and provides the runways the glass panel slides along. Its channels also collect water and feed it to the corner drain tubes.
Does this frame fit the front or rear sunroof?
This frame is supplied for either the front or rear sliding roof position. The Discovery 2 was typically offered with twin sunroofs, so check which aperture you're working on before fitting. Both positions use this same frame.
How do I confirm this fits my Discovery 2?
This frame fits the Land Rover Discovery 2 (1999-2004) models equipped with the factory sliding roof. Not all Discovery 2s were specified with a sunroof, so confirm yours has the sliding glass panel before ordering. Use your VIN to verify the original roof specification.
Is replacing the sunroof frame a DIY job?
Replacing the sunroof frame typically means dropping the headlining and removing the sunroof cassette from the roof aperture, so it's usually a workshop-level job rather than a quick fix. The frame also has to be sealed correctly to keep the roof watertight.
