Genuine Part

Frequently asked questions

What is the ERC6540 fan pulley used for?
The ERC6540 fan pulley is part of the cooling and belt drive system. Driven by the belt, it turns the water pump spindle and carries the engine cooling fan, circulating coolant and drawing air through the radiator. It's a Genuine Land Rover part for the 3.5L V8 twin-carb.
Which engine does this fan pulley fit?
This fan pulley fits the 3.5L V8 twin-carburettor petrol engine as fitted to the Defender (1987-2006 per the fitment data). It mounts the 7-blade cooling fan assembly on that engine.
What are the signs a fan pulley needs replacing?
A worn fan pulley typically shows as a wobble, noise or play at the fan, or a squealing belt. If the pulley hub or bearing fails it can throw the belt and stop coolant circulation, which quickly leads to overheating.
