What is the ERR4868 pulley used for?
The ERR4868 is the pulley for the power steering pump, and on ACE-equipped cars the shared PAS/ACE hydraulic pump. Driven by the auxiliary belt, it turns the pump to pressurise the steering and roll-control hydraulic circuit.
Does this drive the power steering or the ACE pump?
On most applications this drives the power steering pump, but on Discovery 2 with Active Cornering Enhancement it drives the combined PAS and ACE pump. It fits V8 petrol models and the Td5 diesel Discovery 2 ACE setup.
Where is this pulley located?
The pulley mounts on the hydraulic pump drive shaft at the front of the engine and is turned by the auxiliary drive belt. It fits Defender, Discovery 1 and 2, Range Rover Classic and P38.
