What is the GA3180PG swivel repair kit for?
The GA3180PG renews the pivot and sealing components of one front swivel housing on ABS-equipped Defenders, built to OEM specification. It includes the swivel pin kit, bearing, oil seal, retaining plate, gasket and joint washers, without a new swivel ball.
How many GA3180PG kits are needed for a full service?
One kit covers one swivel housing, so a full front axle service needs two GA3180PG kits.
Does the GA3180PG fit all Defenders with ABS?
It fits Defender 1986-2006 and Defender 2007-2016 models with ABS, from VIN suffix XA onwards. Earlier VIN suffixes used a different swivel specification, so check your VIN before ordering.
Why does the swivel housing need this kit periodically?
The swivel pin bearings and oil seal wear with steering movement and off-road use, letting axle oil weep past the seal. Renewing them with fresh shims restores correct swivel pin preload.
