The JQB000160 is the air conditioning evaporator core, the cooling matrix inside the HVAC housing behind the facia. Refrigerant metered in by the expansion valve boils off inside it, pulling heat from the air the blower pushes across the fins, which is how the cabin air gets chilled and dehumidified.
What tools are needed to fit an evaporator core?
Fitting an evaporator core needs the air con system discharged first, and new O-ring seals fitted at every pipe connection on reassembly. It also usually means stripping most of the facia to reach the HVAC housing, so this is a specialist job rather than a DIY one.
Which Range Rover does the JQB000160 fit?
JQB000160 fits the Range Rover L322 (2002-2012) with factory air conditioning. Renew the O-ring seals at every pipe connection when fitting to avoid a slow refrigerant leak afterward.
