What does the JS660-CF fuel filter do?
JS660-CF is an inline fuel filter for carburettor-fed petrol engines, fitted in the low-pressure supply line ahead of the carburettor. It traps rust, scale and debris from the tank and lines before they can reach the carburettor and block the jets or hold the float needle open.
Can this filter be used on a fuel-injected engine?
No. JS660-CF is for carburettor petrol applications only and isn't suitable for fuel-injected engines, which run at higher line pressures than this filter is designed for.
Why would this fuel filter need replacing?
Inline fuel filters typically clog gradually as they trap rust and scale from an ageing fuel tank and lines, usually showing as hesitation, poor idle, or a carburettor that keeps needing cleaning. As a sealed unit it's renewed complete rather than serviced.
