What does the A/C liquid O-Ring seal on a Range Rover P38?

What's the difference between the liquid and suction A/C O-Rings on a P38?
The liquid O-Ring seals high-pressure joints carrying condensed refrigerant toward the expansion valve, while the suction O-Ring seals the low-pressure return to the compressor.
