The KVF100080 is a rubber isolator that sits between the body floor and chassis frame at the front mounting position on the Discovery 2. It carries the weight of the body while isolating road, suspension, and drivetrain vibration from the cabin.
How many body mounts should be replaced at once?
Rubber body mountings compress and perish together with age and heat, so they're normally renewed as a full set across the vehicle rather than one at a time. Replacing only the front mount can leave the body sitting unevenly.
What are the signs a body mount has failed?
A perished or collapsed body mount allows body movement, uneven body height, and increased noise entering the cabin. It fits the Discovery 2 (1998-2004) with either the 2.5 Td5 diesel or 4.0 V8 petrol engine.
