What does the EGR cooler gasket do?
The EGR cooler gasket seals the joint between the EGR cooler and its inlet pipe on the 3.6L V8 diesel engine. It contains recirculated exhaust gas as it enters the cooler, keeping the exhaust gas recirculation system sealed.
How many EGR cooler gaskets are needed?
The 3.6 V8 diesel uses four of these EGR cooler gaskets per engine, and they're sold individually. When opening up the EGR system it's common to replace all four together so the joints reseal properly.
