What does the rear brake disc splash shield do?
The rear brake disc splash shield is the backing plate mounted behind the disc on the rear axle. It sits between the axle flange and the disc, shielding the inboard face of the disc and the caliper from water, mud and road debris thrown up by the wheel, reducing contamination of the friction surfaces.
Is this the left or right splash shield?
This is the right-hand (RH) side splash shield only. The left-hand shield is a separate part, so confirm you need the RH rear shield before ordering. It's galvanised to resist corrosion.
