Frequently asked questions

What does the LR018323 EGR valve do?
The LR018323 EGR valve meters exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold back into the intake on the 2.7L TDV6 diesel engine, lowering combustion temperatures to cut NOx emissions. This is the left-hand (LH) cylinder bank valve; on this V6 each bank has its own unit.
Which models does the 2.7 TDV6 LH EGR valve fit?
The LR018323 fits the left-hand bank of the 2.7L TDV6 diesel in the Discovery 3 (2005-2009), Discovery 4 (2010-2016) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013). Confirm your VIN and engine before ordering, as later builds can differ.
Why do EGR valves fail on the 2.7 TDV6?
EGR valves typically fail through carbon build-up that makes the valve stick open or closed. Common symptoms on the 2.7 TDV6 include rough idle, reduced power, higher emissions and an EGR fault code. A clogged valve can also put the engine into limp mode.
Does the 2.7 TDV6 have one EGR valve or two?
The 2.7L TDV6 uses two EGR valves, one per cylinder bank. The LR018323 covers the left-hand bank only; the right-hand bank takes a separate valve. If carbon build-up has affected one, it's worth inspecting the opposite bank at the same time.
