What does the EGR Cooler Gasket seal?
The EGR Cooler Gasket seals the joint between the EGR cooler and its mating flange on the 4.4L V8 diesel (TDV8). It keeps the recirculation path gas-tight, so measured exhaust gas returns to the intake to lower combustion temperatures and cut NOx. Replace it whenever the cooler is removed.
Which models and engine does it fit?
It fits the 4.4L DOHC V8 diesel (TDV8) in the Range Rover L322 (2010-2012), Range Rover L405 (2013-2022) and Range Rover Sport L494 (2014 on), all from VIN BA000001. Confirm your engine is the 4.4 TDV8 before ordering.
Does this gasket need renewing every time?
Yes. Fit a new EGR Cooler Gasket whenever the cooler is removed or the joint is disturbed. A reused gasket often fails to reseal the hot, pressurised gas joint, causing EGR leaks and fault codes. It's an inexpensive part worth renewing with every EGR cooler job.
