What is the CV boot kit for the front drive shaft?

The CV boot kit renews the protective rubber boot on the front driveshaft constant velocity joint. It retains grease inside the CV joint and keeps out water, mud and grit. Fits Discovery 5 (2017+), Range Rover L405 and Range Rover Sport L494 front driveshafts.

Does this kit cover one side or both front driveshafts?

This kit typically includes the boot, grease and retaining clips to renew one front driveshaft CV joint boot. It fits both the left and right front driveshafts, so one kit covers one side. You'll usually need two kits to do both sides.

What are the signs the front CV boot needs replacing?

The main sign is a cracked or split boot leaking grease around the inner wheelarch. On Discovery 5, Range Rover L405 and Sport L494 you may also hear clicking on full lock. Replacing the boot early stops grit wearing out the CV joint itself.

What's the difference between this front CV boot kit and the rear one?
