Frequently asked questions

What does the LR045324 upper suspension arm do?
The LR045324 is the rear upper suspension link (top link) for the left-hand side on the Land Rover Defender (2007-2016). It connects the chassis to the rear axle via a fulcrum mounting and an integral ball joint, locating the top of the axle while allowing it to articulate.
What are the signs the rear upper link needs replacing?
The rear upper suspension arm typically develops play in its ball joint and bushes, showing up as knocking over bumps, imprecise rear-end handling, or irregular rear tyre wear on the Defender. Replace it once the joint is worn. It's a load-bearing link, so don't leave it once play sets in.
Do I need both left and right upper links?
The Defender rear axle has one upper link per side, and this LR045324 is the left-hand arm. The right-hand side uses its own arm. Many owners renew both sides together for even rear geometry, so order the right-hand link separately if needed.
