What is the front lower suspension arm?
The front lower suspension arm, or wishbone, locates the bottom of the front wheel knuckle against the front subframe. It sets the lower pivot of the upright, governs camber and caster, and feeds braking and cornering loads back into the subframe through its bushes. This is the left-hand arm.
Can the bushes or ball joint be replaced separately?
No, the front lower arm is serviced as a complete assembly. When the bushes or the outer ball joint wear, the whole arm is replaced rather than pressing out individual parts. Fit a complete arm and reset the front geometry afterwards.
What are the signs the front lower arm is worn?
A worn front lower suspension arm usually shows as knocking over broken surfaces, vague or wandering steering, and uneven wear on the inner tyre edge. On a high-mileage vehicle it is common to replace both sides together and reset the front alignment after fitting.
Which vehicles does this left front lower arm fit?
