What is the exterior pollen filter?
The exterior pollen filter is the cabin air filter on the fresh air intake side of the heating and air conditioning housing, upstream of the blower motor. It removes pollen, dust and soot from outside air before it enters the cabin ventilation on the Range Rover L460 and Range Rover Sport L461.
What happens when the pollen filter is blocked?
A blocked pollen filter restricts airflow through the heating and air conditioning system and reduces heater and air conditioning output at every fan speed. Weak airflow or musty air from the vents is the usual sign it needs renewing.
Is there a second cabin filter to change with it?
Yes, a separate interior cabin filter sits within the heater and air conditioning main unit and is normally renewed at the same time as this exterior filter. Changing both together keeps airflow and filtration consistent across the system.
