Frequently asked questions

What is the bulkhead end panel?
The bulkhead end panel is a weld-in repair section that closes the outboard end of the front bulkhead on the Range Rover Classic. It forms the side of the footwell and the face carrying the door hinge pillar and the bulkhead-to-wing mounting points. This is the right-hand (offside) panel.
Why does the bulkhead end panel corrode?
The bulkhead end panel sits low and enclosed behind the front wing, where mud and water collect against the seams, so it corrodes long before the rest of the bulkhead. On the Range Rover Classic 1970-1994 it's a common rust-repair point, which is why it's sold as a replacement pressed-steel section.
How is this bulkhead panel fitted?
It's fitted by cut-and-weld repair. The front wing comes off, the corroded metal is cut back to sound steel and the new section is welded in and refinished. Prime and seam-seal both faces and all enclosed cavities once welding is complete to slow future corrosion. This is bodyshop work.
