What does the footstep do on a Discovery 2?
The footstep mounts along the sill of the Land Rover Discovery 2 and gives a raised step for getting in and out, and for reaching the roof line when loading. It also takes some of the mud and spray that would otherwise hit the lower door and sill.
Where does the footstep fit on the vehicle?
It runs along the sill below the door apertures on the Discovery 2, between the front and rear wheel arches. The step typically mounts to fixing points on the body or sill structure rather than to the chassis, so the condition of those points matters on an older vehicle.
What should I check before fitting a footstep?
