What does the seat belt anchor bracket do?
The seat belt anchor bracket provides the fixing point that secures the seat belt assembly to the Range Rover Classic body structure. It spreads the load from the belt into the bodyshell so the anchorage holds under load rather than pulling through the panel.
Is MRC201 for the left or right side?
MRC201 is the right hand bracket. The left hand side uses a separate part, so check which side you need before ordering. Range Rover Classic sides are given as viewed from the driver's seat looking forward.
What should I check when replacing a seat belt anchor bracket?
Check the surrounding body metal, not just the bracket. On a Range Rover Classic the anchorage only works if the structure behind it is sound, so corrosion in that area needs proper repair rather than a new bracket bolted to thin metal. Torque the fasteners to the workshop manual specification.
