Frequently asked questions

What engines does the NLP100290LG spark plug fit?
The NLP100290LG spark plug fits the 1.8 litre 4-cylinder K Series and 2.5 litre KV6 petrol engines in the Freelander 1 (1996-2006). It threads into the cylinder head and fires the compressed air-fuel charge in each combustion chamber.
How many spark plugs are needed for a full set?
You'll need one plug per cylinder, so four for the 1.8 K Series and six for the 2.5 KV6. Spark plugs are replaced as a complete set so every cylinder runs the same electrode condition and gap.
Is there anything to watch when fitting plugs to these engines?
Check the electrode gap against the engine specification before fitting, and torque the plugs to the workshop specification. The aluminium cylinder heads on the K Series and KV6 are easily damaged by over-tightening, so don't overtighten into the alloy thread.
